Caring for orangutans and chimpanzees requires significant resources and constant dedication. From nutritious food and specialized medical care to enriching activities and habitat upkeep, the needs of our residents are extensive and expensive. On average, caring for just one ape costs more than $30,000 each year. With 70 orangutans and chimpanzees calling the Center for Great Apes home, these costs add up quickly, placing an ever-growing demand on our sanctuary.
