Educational Tours and Private Member Tours may be scheduled during our tour season, which runs from September through May. To ensure the best possible experience for both our guests and the apes, tours are offered on select days and times each week, with limited availability, and should be scheduled at least one month in advance.
Please note, for the well-being and dignity of the apes in our care, all of our residents have the choice to participate in their environment as they wish. As a true sanctuary, we do not ask or require the apes to come out, interact, or perform in any way. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that you will see every ape during your visit, nor can we promise sightings of any specific individual, including Bubbles.
The majority of our tour route is centered around the orangutans in our care, as we are proud to be the only accredited orangutan sanctuary in North, South, and Central America. While the tour experience is primarily focused on orangutans, guests may also have the opportunity to see a few chimpanzees and chimpanzee family groups along the route. As with all sanctuary residents, their visibility is always on their terms, and we fully respect those choices.
